Can Fischer (born May 13, 1984 in Bielefeld ) is a German actor , director , author and theater maker with German-Turkish roots.

From 2016 to 2018 he was deputy director , member of the artistic direction and initiator of the “Fairy Tale Opera Days” at the Chamber Opera Cologne. Since 2019 he has been the deputy theater director at the Theater des Westens in Berlin.

Live and act

Can Fischer initially worked as a unit manager for television, and from 2005 he completed an acting course in Berlin. From 2008 to 2011 he was an actor at the Stadttheater Bielefeld , from 2011 to 2016 in the artistic management office of the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. Directional works arise during this time. a. also at the Volksbühne (Roter Salon) in Berlin and in the independent scene. In 2009 he founded the “Kreaturen Verbund” together with Lissy Pernthaler , under the label numerous works of contemporary theater are created. In 2010 the collective “Kreaturen Verbund” was nominated as “Germany's creative and cultural pilots”.

In addition, Fischer is the author of numerous plays and stage adaptations. Since 2012 with the play »Homevideo« in the publishing house of the authors , nominated in 2014 for the »JugendStückePreis« at the Heidelberger Stückemarkt and published in the anthology »Playground 27: Five plays about mobbing«. The successful stage version of »Homevideo« has been shown at numerous theaters in Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic since 2012. a. at the Residenztheater Munich, Theater Kanton Zurich, Theater Regensburg, Theater Baden-Baden and the Stadttheater Most (CZ). In 2015 his play »Zart« was premiered under the direction of Holger Müller-Brandes, in 2016 the play version of »I don't want to wear a dress anymore« with early texts by Rosa v. Praunheim at the Volksbühne (Red Salon) in Berlin. Since then, projects in the fields of theater, performance, music and film have also been created under the label »OROOM«. Since 2019 he has been represented as an author by Hartmann & Stauffacher Verlag Cologne.

He lives in Berlin.
