Eduard Holinger

Eduard Holinger (born March 30, 1856 in Liestal ; † August 11, 1895 ibid) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Holinger attended schools in Liestal and Basel and studied in Basel, Leipzig , Munich , Heidelberg and Paris ; In 1879 he received the title of Dr. iur. From 1879 to 1881 he was a lawyer in Liestal, from 1881 he was a public prosecutor for Basel-Landschaft . In 1890 he voluntarily returned to the legal profession.

In the years 1890/1891 Holinger was a member of the anti-constitutional minority in the Constitutional Council . For many years he was president of the Liestal and Major municipal commission , most recently in the general staff. He was also president of the cantonal military society and the officers' society in Liestal and president of the cantonal non-profit society.

Holinger was a member of the board of directors of Basellandschaftliche Hypothekenbank and a member of the government from 1893 to 1894 . He resigned because of a brain disease from which he died at the age of 39.
