DevilsKiss is a band from Berlin that has only been complete since 2004. DevilsKiss was originally started as a solo project by singer Ronny "Ron" Jurk in 2000, but has developed into a band over the years.

history

DevilsKiss was founded in 2000 by singer Ronny "Ron" Jurk (former keyboardist and co-founder of the synth-pop band AREA51) originally as a solo project. AREA51 colleague Sebastian "Sea" Adam supported him on the guitar. In 2003 the song Der Teufel was produced by Louis Manke in the “Fearsection” studio in Berlin, with which DevilsKiss emerged as the winner of the “Sonic Seducer” band competition “Battle of the Bands”.

In the same year drummer Francesco “Fre” Landwehrkamp and in summer 2004 bassist Marco “Dig” Heidig (former bassist of the death metal band Necropsy ) joined them. With that, the project finally developed into a band. In autumn we went to the “Fearsection” studio again to record four tracks for the EP Flammenmahl . Some of the songs can later be found on various samplers.

At their first two live appearances, DevilsKiss played as the opening act for Unheilig und Tanzwut in the spring of 2005 . In the same year, Andreas Joh. Richter, bagpiper and founding member of Tanzwut and Corvus Corax , left these bands and took over the management of DevilsKiss.

After “Sea” left in early 2006, DevilsKiss looked for a replacement as quickly as possible and found in Jordi Rubio Auguets a versatile guitarist who quickly integrated into the band.

After performing at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig Whitsun 2006, “Fre” and “Dig” left the band to pursue their own musical ideas. Drummer Michael "Micha" Schulze and bassist Benjamin "Ben" Kettner (also active in the Berlin metal band Morbid Mind ) came for them.

In 2007 DevilsKiss began recording their first album Nightmare , but completion was delayed again and again due to numerous setbacks. In 2009 "Ben" left the band and after a long search was replaced by Marek Mutwill.

At the beginning of 2013, Nightmare was completed. The album contains ten original compositions and was again produced by Louis Manke, who also recorded the vocals. Harris Johns (including Sodom, Helloween, Kreator) was responsible for the mastering. On June 28, 2013, Nightmare was published via Danse Macabre / alive (including Gothminister, the self). DevilsKiss has also been live again since 2013.
