Dezső Lemhényi (born December 9, 1917 in Budapest , † December 4, 2003 ibid) was a Hungarian water polo player who won an Olympic silver medal in 1948 and an Olympic gold medal in 1952 .

Dezső Lemhényi did not take part in the Olympic Games for the first time in London in 1948 because of the Second World War. He played 6 games and scored three goals, but did not play in the lost final against Italy. Four years later he was used in two games in the 1952 Hungarian Olympic victory. In the 13: 4 against Mexico he scored five goals, against Germany he did not score a goal in the 9: 1.

He started with Budapesti Sportegyesület and played since 1943 for the club Újpesti Tornaegylet , which renamed itself in 1952 in Budapesti Dózsa .

Dezső Lemhényi was from 1953 to 1954 and from 1958 to 1960 as the successor to Béla Rajki coach of the Hungarian national water polo team. In 1954 and 1958 he led the team to the European Championship, at the 1960 Olympic Games the team won bronze.

In the 1960s he moved to France with his wife, gymnast Olga Tass (1929-2020), where they both worked as coaches. In the 1970s both were engaged in Canada.

In 1998, Dezső Lemhényi was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame .
