Dharamvir Bharati

Dharamvir Bharati ( Hindi धर्मवीर भारती; Dharmavīr Bhāratī ; born December 25, 1926 in Allahabad ; † September 4, 1997 in Mumbai ) was an Indian writer.

Dharamvir Bharati had a great influence on Hindi literature and is considered to be one of the most important poets and writers in Hindi in India. His novel "Gunahon ka Devtaa" became a classic.

From 1960 to 1987 he was editor of the Hindi weekly Dharmayug in Mumbai . During this long period, Dharmayug became the largest weekly magazine in Hindi.

He has received many awards for his literary work.
