Dial-up line
A dial-up line is a telecommunications line that can be used to establish a connection to a specific remote station using a signaling method. Advanced services such as ISDN open up numerous options for dealing with dial-up lines such as transferring a call to other terminals or conference calls .
The narrow-band Internet access , in which the computer uses a telephone modem or an ISDN terminal device to dial the Internet service provider (ISP) via the telephone network , is also known colloquially as this. The dial-in ( dial-in or dial-up ) takes place here to establish a connection with a dial-in node that is directly connected to the Internet .
