Diana Bianchi (historian)
Diana Bianchi (born October 2, 1951 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan historian .
After graduating from the Universidad de la República (UdelaR) in Montevideo with a degree in history in 1978 , she completed her doctorate at the Universidad de Buenos Aires , where she received her doctorate in 1999.
Bianchi, who teaches as Profesora agregada for Modern History at the Faculty of Humanities and Education of the Universidad de la República (FHCE), where she also heads the Department of World History ( Historia universal ), worked as a visiting professor at the universities in Mar del Plata and tandil . She was also a participant in numerous congresses in Argentina and Spain.
In addition to numerous articles in specialist journals and joint works published in the cities of Madrid , Buenos Aires , Valladolid and Mar del Plata , she published Pobreza, utopía y practica social in 1994 . El problema del pauperismo en la perspectiva de la ilustración española , two years later Modernidad y representaciones and in 2001 La ilustración española y la pobreza. Debates metropolitanos y proyecciones coloniales . In 2002 she received the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture Prize in the Historical Essay category .
