Diccon Bewes

Diccon Bewes (* 1967 in Hampshire , Great Britain) is an English travel journalist .

Bewes became known through his books about Switzerland , especially with the book "Der Schweizversteher: An Engländer unter Eidgenossen". The book became a bestseller in Switzerland and the writer is also very popular among Swiss people.

Life

Diccon Bewes grew up on the coast of southern England . He studied international relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science . After completing his studies, he went on an 18-month trip around the world. He then worked for the travel publisher Lonely Planet as a marketing manager. He also wrote for the travel magazine “Holiday Which?”. Due to health problems, he moved to Bern in Switzerland in 2005 . From 2005 to 2011 he managed the English bookshop in the Stauffacher bookstore in Bern. Since then he has been working as a freelance writer . Diccon Bewes lives and works in Bern.
