Systematics

Diceratella canescens was founded in 1842 by Pierre Edmond Boissier under the Basionym Diceratium canescens Boiss. on the basis of one collection contained by Pierre Martin Rémi diver-Éloy first published in 1867 in Diceratella canescens (Boiss.) Boiss. renamed because the generic name Diceratium had turned out to be an invalid homonym .
