Dick Weber

Dick Weber (born December 23, 1929 in Indianapolis , Indiana , † February 14, 2005 in Florissant , Missouri ) was an American professional bowling player. He was considered one of the best players in this sport.

In 1955 Weber became a member of one of the first professional bowling teams, the Budweisers in St. Louis . Members of this team included Don Carter , Ray Bluth, Tom Hennessey and Pat Patterson. Weber was a founding member of the Professional Bowlers Association in 1958 . Three times (1961, 1963 and 1965) he was voted the best bowler in the United States. In 1975 he was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame. In a 1999 survey by Bowling Magazine, in which the 20 best bowlers of the 20th century were to be selected, Weber came first.

The Weber Cup , an annual bowling tournament between the USA and Europe , was named after Weber.

Pete Weber, his youngest son is also a well-known bowler.
