The Chicky's
The Chicky’s were a group of clowns that performed together from 1957 to 2005 . Depending on the country of their engagement, they were also called The Chicky’s or Les Chicky's.
history
They initially included Bruno Stutz (1938-2015) from Geneva , who acted as the white clown Bruno, and the stupid August Chicky alias Eugen Altenburger from Rapperswil in Sankt Gallen , neither of whom came from the circus milieu. When the latter retired in 2004, he was replaced by the Italian Jimmy Folco until the end of his engagement in the "Krone Festival" program of the Circus Krone . Another August, Roland Brunisholz as Alfredo, worked together with Stutz and Altenburger from 1963 to 1973 and after his departure, the former tightrope dance artist and wife of Bruno Stutz, Patrizia de Jonghe from Belgium, expanded the clown duo into a trio. One of their oldest and most famous numbers was the “Spiegel-Entree”, in which the two clowns sit opposite one another on either side of an imaginary mirror that is only represented by an empty frame.
In addition to several engagements in Circus Krone, they have made guest appearances at Circus Knie , Circus Barum and many others. In addition to Germany, they also traveled to Sweden, Belgium, France, Norway, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. In 1992 they also operated as The Nellys in the Danish Circus Benneweis.
After the guest performance at Circus Krone, Stutz worked for two years at the Dutch Circus Herman Renz.
