The Curiosity Show is a television show from Australia . The presenters of the show were most recently Deane Hutton and Rob Morrison . The latter later assumed the presidency of the Adelaide Zoo Society .

concept

The program deals primarily with scientific phenomena, but also deals with animals, handicrafts, puzzles, brain teasers and experiments. The aim is to encourage children between the ages of 8 and 14 to think creatively.

history

The show is based on the program Here's Humphrey, produced from 1965 to 1971, and on the Humphrey B Bear's Curiosity Show from 1972. The Curiosity Show , produced since 1972 , whose working title was The F Show , with the four presenters Rob Morrison , Deane Hutton , Ian Fairweather and Alister Smart had a running time of 60 minutes. With the departure of the last two moderators mentioned, the broadcast was reduced to 30 minutes.

In Germany, the program was broadcast in the 1980s on the third programs of ARD , later on the children's channel (6 a.m.), on Sat.1 and on Austrian television.

Curiosity Show has been published on YouTube since July 2013 . The presenters Rob Morrison and Deane Hutton have acquired the rights to all 5000 contributions in the series for an undisclosed amount and are using this channel to reach a new generation of viewers.

On May 25, 2014, Morrison and Hutton released a new episode on YouTube. The first curiosity show since 1990 was funded by Kellog Australia and covers nutrition and breakfast topics.

Awards

The show won the Prix ​​Jeunesse International and in 1982 the Logie Award in the Best Children's TV Series category.
