The Story of the Wonderful Potato ( Eventyret om den vidunderlige kartoffel ) is a Danish cartoon made by Anders Sørensen in 1985 . It was published by the Danish Institute for Film and deals with the origin of the potato and its introduction in Europe during modern times.

The film deals with the spread of the potato in South America and later in Europe. He goes into the social conditions in Europe in early modern times, explains the importance of the potato as a source of food and closes with the potato pest in Ireland.
Production and publication
The film was produced in 1985 from a script and directed by Anders Sørensen. The music was composed by Anders Koppel, the narrator was given by Kai Løvring. Jette Michaelsen was responsible for the camera and Claus Deleuran for the background.
