The Ketchup Vampire is a German - Czech animated series from 1991 to 1994.

action

Hundreds of years ago grandfather Dracula founded the terrible clan of DaSilvas, the Transylvanian vampires . Dracula bequeathed a book to his descendants in which he wrote down the mysterious recipes for a multitude of wonder drugs. This book, which was Dracula's legacy, also contained his greatest secret of how inexperienced, blood sausage- nourished young vampires become bloodsuckers. The transformation of the young vampires took place at the festive Matura Vampira. Some of Dracula's descendants settled in France and over time adopted the French way of life. The DeVampongs switched from blood to blood-red Bordeaux wine and tomato juice. Since there was currently no heir to the throne in the distant family castle in Transylvania , it was agreed that the youngest DeVampong offspring Maurice will marry the blood sausage-eating Comtessa Martha DaSilva on the day of Matura Vampira. But since Maurice was more interested in Martha's younger sister Elvira and never dreamed of becoming a bloodsucker, he and Elvira stole Dracula's legacy and ran away with her. The renegades went into hiding in a circus in Italy, where they successfully performed. They had a daughter who, after many years of career, emigrated to America and her parents dalies their son Pino to look after.

32 years later, Martha still has a thirst for revenge because Maurice and Elvira betrayed her of her legacy to become a real bloodsucker. Together with Maurice's brother Ricardo, his human companions Roquefort and the 120-year-old and toothless vampire master, she forges sinister plans and smuggles the young vampires Huberta and Siegfried into the DeVampongs so that they can recapture Dracula's legacy. This turns out to be more difficult than planned, as Huberta falls in love with her cousin Vampino (Pino) DeVampong. Pino, however, is interested in the human girl Bella von Rabenstein. Since the book's plans for reconquest are not making progress, the Transylvanians find Dracula's ruby ring just as they should. After the senile master puts on the ring, Dracula's spirit takes possession of his body and gives him unimagined magical powers. Now the DaSilvas pose a real threat to the ketchup vampires.
