action

In 1895, the twins of destiny were born in Shanghai . Jules and Julie are not twins, however, because Jules has Chinese parents and Julie European parents. When the two are born, the mothers die, the fathers are bewitched on the orders of the Empress Dowager Cixi . The children are to be murdered because, according to an old prophecy, they are supposed to free the people and eliminate the monarchy. The children are rescued and brought to safety in France. When the two turn twelve, the Empress learns that the children are still alive, and a hunt for the children begins. On the run from the empress's horsemen and eunuchs , Jules and Julie arrive in China, where they fulfill their destiny and free their fathers.
