The lesson (original title: Urok ) is a Bulgarian-Greek film from 2014. The film tells the odyssey of a Bulgarian English teacher who is indebted.

action

A wallet is stolen in the school class of the English teacher Nadezhda. She resolves to convict the perpetrator. The investigations in the class are initially unsuccessful. On arrival at home, she learns that her husband has embezzled money that was intended to pay off bank debts. The bank therefore wants to auction their house. Nadezhda only has three days to prevent the auction. When trying to raise money, an odyssey begins for the woman that shakes her moral foundations. The law firm, for which Nadezhda also works as an interpreter, puts her off with the payment of outstanding salaries. Negotiations with the bank to extend the credit line fail. She cannot borrow money from her wealthy father because she does not want to come to terms with his new wife Galva, whom she considers to be a former prostitute . Eventually Nadezhda ends up with a seedy moneylender. With his money, she can initially pay off bank debts.

While she tries to set a trap for the wallet thief in her class, she learns from her bank that there is still a small amount outstanding. Nadezhda has to go to the bank again. On the way she discovers that her money has also been stolen. Only with the help of acquaintances is she able to raise this amount on time. She later learns that the law firm she was translating for is bankrupt and the boss has gone into hiding. She will no longer get her outstanding wages. When she asks the moneylender to extend her loan, he takes advantage of her situation unrestrainedly. First of all, he demands that his nephew get better school grades. Nadezhda then gave the whole class top marks. Later, the moneylender asks her to engage in sexual services if she does not promptly pay her debts. Nadezhda enters a bench armed with a toy gun and tights. A little later she can pay her debts to the moneylender. Back at school, the news reports a bank robbery that morning by a woman her age. Nadezhda goes to her class and catches the wallet thief, one of the students, red-handed. She doesn't talk about it with her class and gives an English lesson.
