Gehre Rickers (born March 7, 1872 in Heiligenstedten ; † September 30, 1936 in Kiel ) was a German teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from elementary school in Heiligenstedten, Gehrt Rickers attended the preparatory institute . This was followed by the teachers' seminar in Tondern from 1890 to 1893 . In 1893 he passed the first and in 1895 the second teacher examination. From May 1893 to December 1896 he worked as a teacher in Raisdorf and from January 1897 to March 1900 as a teacher at the boys' school in Plön . In the following years he worked as a teacher in Kiel until 1933, most recently as deputy principal. In addition to his educational work, he did voluntary work, so he was chairman of the Kiel child protection commission from 1918 to 1924 and chairman of the Kiel workers' education committee from 1919 to 1924.

Rickers was one of the founders of the socialist teachers' association in 1919 and was chairman of the working group of social democratic teachers in Kiel from 1919 to 1925. In December 1924 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until March 1933.
