Love in Light is the title of a filmic milieu study produced in 2003 that focuses on the relationship between two couples.
action
It is the time of the long vacation that fifteen-year-old Fanny spends with her grandparents, Lucien and Suzanne, in a small town on the beach. She has big plans; she wants to lose her virginity as soon as possible . To do this, she even sticks a flyer in the bakery; Fanny's father Frédéric is appalled. Fanny met the cyclist Benjamin, a boy of the same age, with whom she would like to spend her first time. She invites Benjamin to join her and her grandparents.
There is a crisis in their relationship; pensioners have been going their separate ways and keeping separate accounts for years. They decide to rethink their relationship and share their experiences with Fanny and Benjamin.
Benjamin, meanwhile, initially refuses to sleep with Fanny. He shyly rejects the girl's advances. She first finds consolation in Benjamin's older brother Julien, but he quickly finds out that her heart belongs to Benjamin.
In the end, the grandparents decide to divorce, and Benjamin and Fanny begin their romance.
Background information
The relationship drama that was last shown on ARTE was created with a simple handheld camera and approaches the protagonists cautiously and not voyeuristically. Director Bontzolakis also shows the picturesque surroundings around Calais , the location of the film.
