The rocket (cabaret)

The rocket was a literary-political cabaret in Berlin from 1920-1924 , whose later co-director (since 1922) was the German actress, cabaret artist and chansonnière Rosa Valetti (1876-1937). It had a permanent cabaret ensemble.

The cabaret was located on the corner of Kantstrasse and Joachimsthaler Strasse , a few steps away from Kurfürstendamm . From December 1, 1924, the comedians' cabaret played at this location until the autumn of the following year. Eugen Robert was the artistic director . Performing persons were Paul Morgen , Fritz Grünbaum , Käthe Dorsch , Wilhelm Bendow , Joachim Ringelnatz and Rosa Valetti , also Max Adalbert .

Rosa Valetti, who later emigrated to Vienna , performed the “Galgentoni” around 200 times in the play The Ascension of the Galgentoni . A very Prague legend played in 3 pictures by Egon Erwin Kisch .
