Norm - King of the Arctic (Original title: Norm of the North ) is an American - Indian - Irish computer animation film from 2016 . The film was released as direct-to-DVD in Germany on December 9, 2016 .

action

Polar bear Norm is the prince of the Arctic . In his youth, like his grandfather, he develops the ability to communicate with people, which is why he is excluded from the other animals. Only Socrates, a wise bird, and Elizabeth, Norm's lover, accept him.

Years later, when Norm's grandfather mysteriously disappears, tourists storm the Arctic. Socrates shows Norm and three lemmings a luxurious apartment that was built on the ice of the Arctic. In this apartment lives the human Vera, a deputy for the wealthy building contractor Mr. Greene. After Norm saves Vera from an avalanche, Mr. Greene wants to incorporate an actor in polar bear costume into his advertising campaign. Socrates persuades Norm and the lemmings to leave the Arctic and take a trip to New York City .

Once in town, Norm pretends to be an actor in a bear costume and goes to audition for Mr. Greene's commercial. Greene notices that Norm is a real polar bear and suspects that he came to rescue his grandfather. It turns out that this is captured by Greene and held in New York. Later, Mr. Greene tries to shoot Norm in a restaurant, but is overwhelmed by Norm. This draws media attention to Norm, causing Mr. Greene's ratings to rise. Because of this, Greene decides to eventually discontinue Norm.

Before appearing on a television show, Norm meets Vera's daughter Olympia, who advises him to betray Greene in order to save the Arctic. Norm wants to investigate, but fails when Mr. Greene plays a recording in which Norm speaks positively about Greene's construction plans.

Vera and Olympia announce that Greene is planning more properties in the Arctic. Norm and the Lemmings reveal that Greene is bribing a senior member of the Arctic Council and pass it on to Pablo, one of Greene's investors. Vera steps down as deputy and switches to Pablo, while Norm and the lemmings chase the van, which is on its way to the port with the prefabricated houses.

Greene dispatches another truck with Norm's grandfather in it. Norm is also captured, but manages to escape with the help of the lemmings. Norm and his grandfather reach the port on time and separate the houses from the departing cargo ship. Norm is caught again and knocked unconscious.

Norm awakes in the Arctic, where he is told that his grandfather is missing. As a reward for his exploits, Norm is crowned King of the Arctic. To Norm's surprise, his grandfather also appears at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Mr. Greene is hated by the people for his plans, Vera and Olympia are happy with Pablo, their new boss, and Norm and Elizabeth have three boys.
