The ultimate

The Ultimate is a comic series from Marvel Comics published by Ultimate Comics .

Members

The main members are Captain America , Iron Man , Giant Man , Wasp and Thor . In addition, the Scarlet Witch , Quicksilver , Hawkeye and the Black Widow belong to the inner circle of members. Dr. Bruce Banner was also a founding member of the group, but after a self-experiment mutated into the Monster Hulk and caused a massacre in Manhattan . Because of this, he is sentenced to death in the second season and supposedly executed.

The team is led by the mysterious General Nick Fury , the head of SHIELD, who in the Ultimate Universe, in contrast to the "classic" Marvel Universe, is an African American. The ultimate are a military reaction force that is patriotic and loyal, but seldom "heroic".

Publication and stakeholders

The first edition of the Ultimate appeared in the United States in March 2002 . In Germany , the first issue was published by Panini in October 2002 .

The series was initially written by Mark Millar and the illustrator Brian Hitch. Since the third season, which was published in January 2008, the series has been designed by writer Jeph Loeb , illustrator Joe Madureira and colorist Christian Lichtner.

The main plot is divided into seasons, three of which have appeared in full so far ( Superhuman , National Security and Gods and Monsters ). In addition to the main storyline, Panini has published other so-called mini-series in The Ultimate . Including Ultimate War , The Ultimate Six and the Gah-Lak-Tus - Trilogy .
