The German voice

The German Voice is a German-language radio broadcast in Poland . It is aimed at the German minority in Upper Silesia . The weekly magazine is broadcast on Radio Vanessa, Radio Mittendrin and Radio Plus Opole. From 1997 to 2010 the program broadcast under the name The German Voice from Ratibor .

The approximately 50-minute magazine is produced and presented in Racibórz (Ratibor). a. local and national news and articles, listener congratulations and a request concert with folk music songs. The program is supported by the Institute for Foreign Relations .

The German voice from Ratibor started in April 1997 on the initiative of the German Friendship Circle in the Silesian District (DFK) on the radio station Radio Vanessa. The DFK set up a studio in Racibórz and set up a radio editorial team with teenagers and young adults. They started a second program in October 1999: The youth program Mittendrin . With the launch of its own radio station, Radio Mittendrin, on January 6, 2006, the program “The German Voice” will be repeated there.

Since October 2010 the program has also been broadcast on Radio Plus Opole, which means that the transmission area has also expanded to include the Opole Voivodeship. With the expansion of the broadcasting area beyond Racibórz, the broadcast title was also shortened to Die deutsche Demokratie.
