Radio Mittendrin is a German-Polish internet radio station based in Racibórz in Upper Silesia . The transmitter is a project of the German Friendship Circle in the Silesian District (DFK) and is considered an information portal for the German minority. It is financed by the Institute for Foreign Relations in Stuttgart . The editorial team at Radio Mittendrin also produces programs for Radio Opole , Polskie Radio Katowice and others. a.

Radio Mittendrin now operates a second station called “Heimat”. This plays music from the areas of German hits and folk music.

history

Radio Mittendrin started on January 6, 2006. The radio editorial team, which has existed since 1997, produced the programs “Mittendrin” and “The German Voice from Racibórz”, which were broadcast on private channels, even before the start of its own 24-hour station. The studio is located in the meeting house of the German Friendship Circle Ratibor, which was significantly involved in setting up the editorial office, the premises and the technology.

A new program scheme was introduced on October 27, 2010.

Since 2013, the editorial team of Radio Mittendrin has also been responsible for the production of several radio programs for other radio stations such as Radio Opole, which can be received via VHF frequencies. These new programs include women's issues, weekly snacks and Treffpunkt Opole.

Radio Mittendrin broadcasts a mixed German and Polish-language program with non-stop music tracks and its programs are aimed at different age groups, but especially at younger listeners. Some programs are aimed specifically at the German minority .

The station cooperates with Deutsche Welle, among others, and broadcasts their programs “Kalenderblatt” and “Studi DW”, as well as with other stations from Germany and Austria. These include the youth magazines “Funkschatten” from Vienna and “Sternzeit” from Cologne and a children's program from Radijojo.

Other programs include the one-hour youth magazine “Mittendrin” and the Schlager request concert program “The German Voice”.
