German Friendship Circle in the Silesian District

The German Friendship Circle in the Silesian District ( DFK ), also known as the Social-Cultural Society of Germans in the Silesian Voivodeship, is an organization of the German minority in the Silesian Voivodeship .

The DFK is a member of the Association of German Social-Cultural Societies in Poland (VdG) and has its headquarters in Racibórz ; It is divided into the district associations Beuthen OS , Gleiwitz , Hindenburg OS , Kattowitz , Loslau , Orzesche , Ratibor , Rybnik , Tichau and Teschen . 127 local groups belong to the DFK.

The German Friendship Circle in the Silesian district was officially registered on January 16, 1990 and is committed to social and cultural issues such as maintaining the German language, tradition and history. The information magazine of the DFK is the "Upper Silesian Voice". It has been published since 1989. On January 6, 2006, the DFK launched the Internet radio station Radio Mittendrin , based in Ratibor in Upper Silesia and financially supported by the Institute for Foreign Relations in Stuttgart .
