Diederich Thomas Fretz
Diederich Thomas Fretz (born October 2, 1743 in Sankt Goar , † March 27, 1815 in Colombo ) was a merchant of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) and between 1792 and 1796 he was in command of the Galle Fort in southern Sri Lanka . He was the last Dutch in command of this fortress and oversaw its handover to the English in February 1796.
