Diedrich Diederichsen (theater scholar)

Diedrich Diederichsen (born July 6, 1921 in Hamburg ; † December 4, 2009 there ) was a German theater scholar .

Life

Diederichsen studied literature and theater studies, philosophy and psychology at the University of Hamburg . In 1952 he was promoted to Dr. phil. doctoral thesis on Shakespeare and the German fairy tale drama . From 1953 he taught theater studies at the University of Hamburg. From 1953 to 1986 he was head of the theater collection of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Diederichsen published on Hamburg's theater history and wrote, among other things, in Kürschner's biographical theater manual.

His sons are the cultural scientist Diedrich Diederichsen and the journalist and musician Detlef Diederichsen .
