Diego Marani (* 1959 in Ferrara ) is an Italian translator and reviser at the Council of Ministers of the European Union in Brussels and a columnist in various newspapers.

Marani became known when he jokingly published the auxiliary language Europanto , a mixture of the various official languages ​​of the European Union, in 1996 .

In Europanto he published the collection of short stories "Las adventures de l'inspector Cabillot" in France .

Marani is also the author of novels in Italian, “Caprice de dieu” , “Zanzare” and “Nuova grammatica finlandese” .
