Diego Núñez de Avendaño
Diego Núñez de Avendaño (* before 1580 in Castillo de Garcimuñoz, Province of Cuenca ; † May 26, 1606 in Lima , Peru ) was a Spanish lawyer who served temporarily as Viceroy of Peru in 1606 .
Núñez must have had legal training in Spain as he was a judge ( oidor ) at the Real Audiencia in Lima . At the death of the viceroy Gaspar de Zúñiga y Acevedo in February 1606, Núñez was the (service) oldest oidor and in this function took over the office of viceroy. Núñez died in office in 1606.
