Juan Fernández de Boán
Juan Fernández de Boán (* 1549 in Pousa de Cacabelos, today: Pazo San Damián , Ourense Province , Spain ; † October 9, 1615 in Seville , Spain) was a Spanish lawyer who temporarily served as Viceroy of Peru in 1606/1607 .
Fernández must have had a legal education in Spain as he was a judge ( oidor ) at the Real Audiencia of Lima . After the death of Viceroy Gaspar de Zúñiga y Acevedo in February 1606, the senior Oidor , Diego Núñez de Avendaño , temporarily assumed the office of viceroy, but he died after only three months in office.
The administration of the South American colony fell to the next senior judge, Juan Fernández. He held the office until December 21, 1607 that of King Philip III. certain successor, Juan Manuel de Mendoza y Luna , arrived in Lima.
After completing his official duties at the Real Audiencia, Fernández returned to Europe, where he died in Seville in 1615.
