Diego Antonio Caccia Torres (born March 9, 1971 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine actor and Latin pop singer.

Live and act

He is the fifth son of the well-known Argentine singer Lolita Torres. In 1988 he played his first film role in El Profesor Punk , followed in 1989 by a role in the television series Los Otros y Nosotros . In the same year he founded a band called La Marca , which broke up in 1991. In 1992 he played a leading role in the telenovela La Banda del Golden Rocket and released his first solo album, which was produced by Cachorro López. It went four times platinum in Argentina. The second album followed in 1994, the third in 1996 and the fourth album in 1999. He also worked as an actor in the films La Furia (1997, directed by Juan Bautista Stagnaro) and La Venganza (1999, directed by Juan Carlos Desanzo). For the latter, he also contributed the song Recuerda to the soundtrack .

His fifth album, which was released in 2001, contains his most famous song Color Esperanza . It stayed at number 1 on the Argentine charts for 12 weeks in early 2002, and the video won the MTV People's Choice Award . Over 160,000 copies of the album were sold in Argentina. Torres gave 13 concerts at Luna Park , all of which were sold out. In 2003 he played a leading role in the film El Juego de Arcibel (director: Alberto Lecchi). In 2004 he gave a concert for MTV Unplugged , which was also released on CD and DVD. It was nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album and received a Latin Grammy for Best Engineered Album . In Argentina it was the best-selling album of the year and went platinum four times. On his tour through 54 cities in Latin America he had over a million viewers. His seventh album was released in 2006. It was produced by himself and contains the song Abriendo Caminos , a duet with Juan Luis Guerra .

Torres is the UNICEF ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean.
