The Institute of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Caterina Volpicelli ( it . : Ancelle del Sacro Cuore di Caterina Volpicelli) belong to the institutes of consecrated life in the Roman Catholic Church . The abbreviation of the order of the congregation is ASCV .

history

Caterina Volpicelli first founded the Ancelle as a religious association in 1867 in Naples , Italy. On July 1, 1874, she founded with the approval of the Cardinal - Archbishop of Naples, Sisto Riario Sforza , the Institute Ancelle del Sacro Cuore of Franciscan Terziarinnen with a monastic branch and one each secular group for unmarried women and for wives or widows. The aim of the associations is works of charity and special veneration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . On June 3, 1890, the Congregation received a decretum laudis from Pope Leo XIII.

The parent company is in Naples. The institute has offices in Italy, Panama, Brazil and Indonesia.
