Service award of the NSDAP
The service award of the NSDAP was a decoration of the NSDAP ( National Socialist German Workers' Party ).
The public showing of the badge is punishable in Germany as the use of marks of unconstitutional organizations according to § 86a StGB .
In National Socialism
The service award of the NSDAP was donated by order of April 2, 1939 by Adolf Hitler and could be awarded to all party members, regardless of whether they were political leaders or members of an affiliated group, as recognition for the faithful fulfillment of their duties. It did not matter whether the loan recipients worked full-time or on a voluntary basis.
stages
The individual levels were broken down according to the active period of service:
- III. Grade in gold after 25 years of service on a red 35 mm wide ribbon with golden-brown border stripes edged in white, black and white
- II. Grade in silver after 15 years of service on a blue 35 mm wide ribbon with two white marginal stripes
- First stage in bronze after 10 years of service on a brown 35 mm wide ribbon with two white marginal strips
Appearance
The award is a cross with curly bars and bundles of rays in the corners. In the middle of the cross the party eagle is depicted with the swastika in its claws , which is surrounded by an oak wreath . The cross arms as well as the obverse are blue in the II. Stage, in the III. Step white enamelled.
On the reverse the four-line inscription Treue für Führer und Volk .
Carrying method
The service award was worn on the large medal buckle. It was remarkable that women wore the award on a 15 mm wide ribbon around their necks (see mother's cross ). Only the corresponding ribbons were worn on the small medal buckle. When a higher level was awarded, the lower level did not have to be discarded, but could be carried on.
Today: Anti-Constitutional Badge
According to the law on titles, medals and decorations of July 26, 1957, the service award of the NSDAP is not permitted in any form in the Federal Republic of Germany .
