Dieter Adam (doctor)
Dieter Adam (born October 25, 1935 in Munich ) is a German medic.
Career
Adam received his doctorate in medicine in 1962 and pharmacology in 1967 . In 1972 he completed his habilitation in paediatrics in Munich . From 1975 to 1983 he was senior physician at the children's clinic at the University of Munich and from 1983 to 2001 head of the department for antimicrobial therapy and infection epidemiology at the university children's clinic in Munich.
In 1978 he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Munich, and in 1980 professor. From 1993 to 1999 he was Vice Rector of the University of Munich.
From 1982 to 1986 he was President of the Paul Ehrlich Society for Chemotherapy and from 1993 to 1999 President of the German Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases . From 1992 to 2002 he was chairman of the ethics committee of the Bavarian State Medical Association.
