Dieter Brefort (born May 13, 1962 in Berlin ) is a former German professional footballer .
Career
Dieter Brefort started playing soccer at Hertha 03 Zehlendorf , then moved to SC Charlottenburg and was finally discovered together with Michael Schmidt by the then HSV manager Günter Netzer and went to Hamburger SV in 1982 , where he stayed until 1984. However, Brefort could not prevail in two professional years with the Hamburgers and moved to Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin in the second Bundesliga. There he was regularly used and made promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with the Berliners in 1986, but was relegated again after a year. Brefort played in the 2nd division until 1990, but then had to end his football career due to an injury.
In the 1983 European final against Juventus Turin , Brefort was a substitute for the squad.
