Dieter Einfeldt

Dieter Einfeldt (born April 11, 1935 in Hamburg ) is a German composer and emeritus professor of composition and music theory .

Life

Dieter Einfeldt studied composition and conducting with Ernst Gernot Klußman, Walter Marin and Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt and piano with Erik Schönsee at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater from 1950 to 1962 . At the same university he taught from 1972 to 2000 as a professor of composition and music theory. Dieter Einfeldt made a name for himself with compositions such as the Requiem for Hamburg "Gomorrha" (1983/85) and the 1971 rotations for percussion ensemble. His compositional work includes operas, children's musicals, a ballet, an oratorio, symphonies, other orchestral works, solo concerts and chamber music works, which have been awarded several prizes.
