Dieter Harrsen

Dieter Harrsen (* 1958 ) is a German politician ( WG-NF ) and was district administrator for the district of North Friesland from 2007 to 2019 .

Life

Harrsen grew up on the North Frisian island of Pellworm . His family had lived there for generations and in the past had several mayors and heads of office. After finishing school, he trained in administration in Husum near the district of North Friesland.

In 1991 he became the chief administrative officer of the Pellworm office . Before that, he had worked in the economic and tourism development of the North Friesland district, among other things. On September 30, 2007, Harrsen was elected in a direct election to the district administrator for the district of North Friesland. Furthermore, he was chairman of the European border region Sønderjylland-Schleswig for two years, until April 2012, and is still a member of the board of the region. After the local elections in 2013, on August 23, 2013, he was elected as the joint candidate of the SPD , SSW and the North Friesland constituency by drawing lots for the second time as District Administrator of the North Friesland district, after receiving the same number of votes as the opposing candidate of an alliance in the Husum district council in the third ballot CDU , Greens and FDP .

Harrsen has been married since 1979. The marriage produced three sons. Harrsen is a certified DFB referee. On April 19, 2008 he received the Golden Brent Goose Feather from the Wadden Sea Protection Station for his support of the biosphere work and the Brent Goose Days.
