Dieter Henle

Dieter Henle (born February 27, 1975 in Giengen an der Brenz ) is a German politician ( non-party ). He is Lord Mayor of the major district town of Giengen an der Brenz in Baden-Württemberg .

Life and work

Growing up in Heidenheim , Henle began a public service career after graduating from high school at Hellenstein-Gymnasium . From 1998 to 2002, he completed an apprenticeship with a degree in high-level administration and a subsequent state examination (public management) at the University of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg .

From 2002 to 2016 Henle worked for the city of Heidenheim an der Brenz. After starting his career in human resources / personnel development, he became head of the building and road maintenance division and was responsible for cleanliness, winter services and city cleaning. From 2005 to 2009 he was in charge of the Children, Youth and Family division and during this time wrote the first kindergarten planning in the district. In 2009 he received the department head for family, education and sport from the local council and held it until 2016. During this time he developed concepts such as the future academy, the educational house and the voucher model in day care. At the same time, he accompanied the city's cooperative sports and school development planning and worked as a lecturer. He was a course director at the Baden-Württemberg Municipal Council Administration School, Heidenheim District School and lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Administration School and the Baden-Württemberg Administration and Business Academy as well as guest lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim and the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education .

On June 13, 2017, he announced his candidacy for the election of Lord Mayor of the major district town of Giengen and prevailed on July 30, 2017 in the second ballot. He was sworn in on October 19, 2017 in the Walter-Schmid-Halle in the presence of District President Wolfgang Reimer.

At the beginning of his first term as Lord Mayor, Henle introduced new elements to transparently inform the citizens about local politics and to motivate them to participate actively. This includes new formats such as an annual press conference and a “100 days” balance sheet report.
