Dieter Honecker (born January 23, 1930 ; † July 29, 2012 ) (also Dieter Honnecker ) was a German football player who was active for the Saarland national team .

Career

Honecker played for SG Völklingen until 1952 and from 1952 to 1958 for SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken . For Saar 05 he is listed from 1952 to 1958 at the side of zero-five legend Fritz Altmeyer with 77 league appearances in the football Oberliga Südwest , in which he has scored 23 goals. He was also used on June 3, 1956 in a friendly against the reserve of the Portuguese national team ; the game ended 0-0.
