Dieter Jungmichel

Dieter Jungmichel (born July 11, 1931 ) is a specialist in orthopedics and was chief physician at the forest hospital in Bad Düben from 1972 to 1998 .

Life

Jungmichel graduated from high school and completed an apprenticeship as a book printer . From 1951 to 1956 he studied at the University of Leipzig . In 1963 he became a specialist in orthopedics, in 1963 under the direction of Peter Uibe first senior physician at the municipal clinic for orthopedics and rehabilitation in Leipzig and in 1972 chief physician of the orthopedic department of the Waldkrankenhaus Bad Düben. From the former lung sanatorium, the specialist hospital for orthopedics emerged in 1975, which achieved national and international fame in the following years under his leadership. Around 2,800 competitive athletes, including over 100 world and Olympic champions, have been treated here. At the age of 67, Dieter Jungmichel retired in 1999. Jungmichel has published more than 70 papers in magazines and books.
