Dieter Neubauer (archaeologist)

Dieter Albert Neubauer (born September 11, 1963 in Coburg ) is a German prehistoric archaeologist .

Dieter Neubauer studied Prehistory and Early History, Medieval History and Art History at the University of Würzburg . In 1989 he completed his studies with Walter Janssen with a master's thesis on the Osterburg near Bischofsheim in the Rhön. In 2001 he received his doctorate from Wolfram Schier with his dissertation "The Wettenburg in the Mainschleife near Urphar, Main-Spessart-Kreis". phil. PhD. After various inventories of archaeological collections, numerous excavations for the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation and a short period of self-employment, Neubauer initially worked as a scientific excavation manager in Saxony-Anhalt, then again as archaeological excavation manager and project coordinator for the archaeological department of the State Office for Monument Preservation Hesse .

Dieter Neubauer has written numerous scientific articles and contributions on prehistoric and early historical topics, in which he deals with his current excavation projects and special individual aspects from them. In addition, his work is also repeatedly devoted to migration and prehistoric topics, which represent the focus of Neubauer's research interests.
