Dieter Paucken (born September 20, 1982 in Koblenz ) is a German football goalkeeper .

Career

In his youth he played with TuS Koblenz and 1. FSV Mainz 05 until he got his first contract with FV Engers 07 in 2001 . In 2005 he moved to 1. FC Köln and played nine regional and nine major league games with the second team . From 2007 to 2008 Paucken was a licensed player in the 1st team.

At the end of 2007 Dieter Paucken completed a trial training session with the English second division club FC Barnsley . But since the then goalkeeper at Barnsley Heinz Müller did not move to another club, Paucken was not obliged to do so.

In September 2008 Dieter Paucken terminated his contract with 1. FC Köln. He saw there no longer any longer-term chance to become a regular goalkeeper. After his termination, he trained at TuS Koblenz until December 2008 to keep himself fit.

At the end of the 2008/09 season he signed a contract with the league club SV Roßbach / Verscheid for the 2009/10 season, but was able to immediately switch to TuS Koblenz due to a clause for the professional area.

He made his second division debut for Koblenz on December 11, 2009 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern after goalkeeper David Yelldell was unable to continue the game after 59 minutes due to an injury. He then completed 14 games as a replacement for Yelldell. After relegation he became “Number 1” of TuS Koblenz through the departure of Yelldell, received a contract until 2013 and was used 29 times in the 3rd division . After TuS Koblenz withdrew from the 3rd division and the future of the club was uncertain, Paucken decided to leave Koblenz and moved to Fortuna Cologne in the Regionalliga West.

For Fortuna Cologne, he completed 30 games as No. 1 in goal. At the beginning of June 2012, the club announced that Paucken would leave Fortuna and that his current contract would be terminated. His successor was André Poggenborg, who moved from Eintracht Trier to Cologne. Paucken moved from Cologne back to Koblenz and received a one-year contract with his former club TuS Koblenz . He extended this in winter 2012 and signed a new contract in Koblenz until 2014. After Paucken lost his regular place in the first half of the 2013/14 season , he decided to terminate his contract with TuS prematurely and leave the club during the winter break . He justified this step by saying that he wanted to orientate himself professionally differently in the future. At the end of December 2013, Paucken moved to the Rhineland Football League to his former club FV Engers 07 . In January 2018 he joined TuS Koblenz again.

He achieved notoriety through his equalizing goal to 1: 1 against SSVg Velbert with an overhead kick , as it was voted “Goal of the Month” in September 2006 in the sports show . This performance is also remarkable because he succeeded as a goalkeeper from a game situation.
