Dieter Schulz (born March 22, 1939 in Zeipau, today Szcepanow , † March 21, 2019 in Cottbus was a German football player and coach.

Career

Schulz became a member of the club when SC Cottbus was founded in 1963. Until 1972 he worked there as the goalkeeper of the first men's team, but was mostly only a substitute. Following his playing career, he worked alongside Manfred Kupferschmied as a coach and achieved promotion to the GDR league . Since the 1981/82 season he was head coach and again achieved promotion to the league.

From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a coach for the amateurs at FC Energie Cottbus . After that he was a scout until 2002.

Until recently Schulz was an honorary member of FC Energie Cottbus and a member of the honorary council .
