Dieter Sobotka

Dieter Sobotka (born July 19, 1954 in the Gelsenkirchen district of Buer) is a German journalist .

Life

Dieter Sobotka studied journalism, history and political science at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . From 1985 he completed an internship at the Siegener Zeitung . In 1993 he became head of the local editorial team, later head of the politics department. On October 1, 2007, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the Siegener Zeitung to succeed Eberhard Winterhager . Sobotka retired on January 31, 2020. He is married and has three children.
