Dieter Winkler (born February 6, 1956 in Berlin ) is a German writer , editor and media agent .

Life

According to his own statement, Winkler discovered his passion for writing at the age of thirteen “like many of his peers” . Various crime and fantasy stories were already published during his student days, but then Winkler initially pursued a more sedate career, becoming book program manager at the specialist publisher Franzis and later editor-in-chief of the computer magazine Chip . He also worked as a translator, taekwondo trainer and software developer.

At the end of the 1990s, Winkler founded Medienservice Winkler as a media and authoring service. He developed various book and web projects for reading experience under the patronage of Paul Maar , and in 2004 he took over overall management for Wolfgang Hohlbein . In addition, Winkler is a successful author. He wrote the youth book series Netsurfer and various scripts for radio plays and television , as well as the novel The Hour of the Red Dragon .

This was followed by the Lord of the Games series and the Stop Violence Project , for which he worked with ex-boxer Henry Maske and which is about using wit and understanding instead of violence against your opponents.

Dieter Winkler is also the most unknown other half of the team of authors behind the successful fantasy saga Enwor , which until the eleventh volume only had the more popular name Wolfgang Hohlbein on the cover. The two authors have known each other for a long time and are good friends. Enwor developed them together, but Hohlbein wrote the first ten volumes almost alone, since Winkler switched to editing . The four volumes of Wolfgang Hohlbein's Enwor - New Adventure meanwhile identify Winkler as the author.

Dieter Winkler lives with his wife Uschi, also an author, and their two children in the greater Munich area .
