Dietmar Bruckner

Dietmar Bruckner (born June 27, 1951 in Nuremberg ) worked for several years as an editor for Nürnberger Nachrichten , then for almost twenty years as a freelancer for the weekly newspapers Die Zeit and Rheinischer Merkur and now works as a freelance journalist and book author.

Life

School and study

Dietmar Bruckner passed his Abitur in 1972 at the Hans-Sachs-Gymnasium in Nuremberg. After doing community service from 1972 to 1974, he studied German, Romance philology and theater studies at FAU ( University of Erlangen-Nuremberg ). In 1982 he completed his studies with a Magister Artium (MA). His master's thesis was entitled “Staged Life: Phenomena of Narcissism in Martin Walser's Novels ”.

Daily newspaper editor

After a long stay in France as assistant d'allemand, Dietmar Bruckner began working for the Erlanger Nachrichten in 1978 . After a traineeship at Nürnberger Nachrichten , he worked there for six years from 1984 to 1990 as the cultural editor.

Freelance journalist

He has been working as a freelancer since 1990, including for many years for “ Die Zeit ” in the “Media” and “Länderspiegel” departments, for “ Rheinischer Merkur ” and various daily newspapers.

Lecturer

He was also active in training journalists. Until 2016 he had a teaching position for "Journalistic Writing" at the University of Bayreuth and until 2004 he was a mentor for Modern German Literature at the Study Center Nuremberg of the Fern-Universität Hagen.

author

He is the author of several publications, including books on the city of Nuremberg and the city of Bayreuth as well as travel books on Bavaria in general.
