Dietmar Matterne

Dietmar Matterne (born August 16, 1942 in Breslau ; † October 7, 2000 in Cottbus ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Born in Silesia, Matterne grew up in Thuringia (districts of Erfurt and Suhl ). After graduating from high school , he studied chemistry from 1963 to 1968 at the TU Dresden . Then he was there until 1973 research assistant and a doctorate in that year for Dr. rer. nat. From 1974 to 1990 Matterne was a chemist and laboratory manager at the district hospital in Weißwasser . At the same time, he completed specialist training in clinical chemistry and laboratory diagnostics from 1983 to 1987.

In November 1989 Matterne joined the Social Democratic Party in the GDR . In the early Volkskammer election in 1990 in the Cottbus district , he was elected to fourth place in the last Volkskammer . In the 1990 Bundestag election, he was elected to the German Bundestag via the Saxon state list , to which he was a member until 1994.

Matterne died after a long and serious illness at the age of 58.
