Dietmar Nowodworski

Dietmar Nowodworski (born May 8, 1951 in Unna , North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German object artist .

Life

He grew up in a family of photographers and began taking photos himself at an early age. In 1973 he started working as a graphic designer and in 1985 completed a guest study at the Werkkunstschule Dortmund . Inspired by contemporary Pop Art artists and the ideas of Dadaism , the first objects were created. At the same time, he further developed his photographic imagery and went on several study trips at home and abroad, which resulted in various exhibitions. Nowodworski often addressed the German-German relationship in the first few years after reunification. His first marriage had two children. In 2002 he met his second wife Frauke Fischer. Since 2004 they have both appeared in joint projects as the artist duo arthaus: nowodworski . In 2010, the artist couple Nowodworski took part in various projects (X-Change, Local hero Unna, Contemporary Art Ruhr) as part of the Ruhr Area Capital of Culture . In their project 'XCHANGE zur Ruhr 2010 , the artists showed the Ruhr area not only from the point of view of the locals (using room installations), but also with their film The Journey of Mrs. Browne , which shows the view of a passing stranger on the country and its people.

  • 1992 participation in a group exhibition of the Museum of Applied Arts Gera, in Iserlohn
  • 1994 traveling exhibition "Cucumbers from the Spreewald". In 2000/2001 the exhibition became part of the EXPO project
  • 2000 Exhibition "Views from over there", Memorial of the German Division Marienborn
  • 2001 Various museums buy up the objects in this exhibition. The banner "SEE YOU" hangs on the BAB 2 to this day.

  • 2007 Beatles Museum Halle light object "John Lennon enlightened" on permanent loan
  • 2007 Rio Reiser Museum, Fresenhagen Purchase and permanent installation of interactive objects
