Dietmar Pegam (born June 11, 1968 in Graz ) is a former Austrian football player and current coach.

Career

Dietmar Pegam completed his studies at the Pedagogical Academy of the Diocese of Graz-Seckau as a qualified pedagogue for teaching at elementary schools.

As a player, Pegam was involved with SK Sturm Graz from 1986 to 1992 , where he played 60 Bundesliga games . Further stations in the 2nd division were the SVL Flavia Solva , the Grazer AK and the SV Oberwart .

Dietmar Pegam began his coaching career at lower-class clubs. After he was hired as a player-coach at SC Fürstenfeld , he received an offer from his former club GAK to work as a coach in the youth academy. In the summer of 2007 he was appointed head coach of the GAK. Due to the bankruptcy and the non-issue of the license, the GAK had to go to the Regionalliga Mitte . With young players he was able to achieve a place in the upper midfield.

In January 2008, shortly before the renewed bankruptcy negotiation, Pegam left the GAK and started working for the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Austria Kärnten as Klaus Schmidt's assistant coach . After the end of the 2008/09 season , Pegam left the Carinthians and switched to his home club SK Sturm Graz , where he mainly takes on the management of the academy, but is also active as a second assistant coach.
