Dietrich Ehrenwerth
Dietrich Ehrenwerth (born June 18, 1957 ) is a German church musician .
Ehrenwerth is cantor at the Augustinian Church in Erfurt , where he heads the Augustinian Choir , the Andreas Chamber Orchestra and the Augustiner Vocalkreis. He is also the regional church music director of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
life and work
From 1977 Dietrich Ehrenwerth studied church music at the church music college in Halle with Helmut Gleim ( conducting ) and Johannes Schäfer ( organ ). In 1983 he passed his A-exam .
From 1983 to 1989 he worked as a church musician at the Gernrode Collegiate Church in the Harz Mountains. Then he moved to the Augustinian Church in Erfurt , where he has been working since 1989. Furthermore, he took over the management of the Augustiner Kantorei (inter -congregational oratorio choir) and the Andreas Chamber Orchestra. In 1992 the Augustiner Vocalkreis was founded.
Since 1990 Ehrenwerth has been provost cantor for the provost office of Erfurt (later Erfurt-Nordhausen, now Eisenach-Erfurt). From 1993 to 2002 he also worked as a conductor at the Bitterfeld Kantorei. In 1998 he was awarded the title of Church Music Director. In 2000 he began his work as regional church music director of the church province of Saxony , today's Evangelical Church in Central Germany.
