Dietrich Grapentin

Dietrich Grapentin (born April 10, 1938 ) is a former German soccer player who played between 1959 and 1971 in Greifswald with the BSG unit and the BSG Kernkraftwerk Nord in the second-rate GDR league .

Athletic career

During his time as a soccer player, Dietrich Grapentin was one of the busiest players in the Greifswalder Betriebsportgemeinschaft (BSG) unit and nuclear power plant north in ten seasons . From 1959 to 1968 unit Greifswald played 207 games in the second-rate GDR league, in which Grapentin was used as a defender in 188 games. In the seasons 1966/67 and 1967/68 Greifswald had to play after relegation in the district league before they were district champions with Grapentin and managed to return to the GDR league.

From the 1968/69 season on, the BSG played under the name Kernkraftwerk Nord Greifswald, and the now 30-year-old Grapentin was still part of the squad. He remained active in the GDR league team until the end of the season and completed 74 matches in the 86 point games played during this period. After a total of 262 GDR league games, Dietrich Grapenthin ended his career as a GDR league player in the summer of 1971.
